Just last week I bought an A3 Cab, prem plus, with an MSRP of $45,xxx out of dealer inventory. Dealer gave me $4k off, plus another $750 from Audi in loyalty credit, plus Audi Financial is going to make my first payment of about $580. So that's about 11-12% off in total. Granted the car was in existing inventory, but in giving me that price they matched another dealer. Not everyone is going to get the Audi corporate $$, but the $4k off is still 9% off that anyone could have negotiated for.

Yea I think his statement was too broad, probably meant just S3s since it is still relatively new

I do not know if there is only 7% on the S3 but i doubt it... This is the usual dealership song and dance i get when I start dealing....
In the Los Angeles area there is a lot of competition.... Remember the A3 S3 are almost 1 year old in the market (S3) a little less.... The only car not that easy to get a 10% discount here in LA is the Q5.

Here is S.Cal. when I go to a dealership for a new lease they always try to give me a quote with a higher mf numbers, but I have the luxury of telling them I will walk to another dealership close by and get the basic mf numbers. I have 5 Audi dealerships within 20 miles.

Yea that is very convenient and a nice luxury to have. Although that is one way they make their money so most won't go all the way down to the bottom, so it wouldn't make sense to run preliminary numbers off of it

What I don't understand is the trade-in value. Why only $6,193? Kelley Blue Book lists a 2012 GTI with 44k miles in fair condition (white with no additional options) at $14,500 (trade-in to the Seattle area). Does the $6,193 trade-in include monies owed on the GTI's loan?

Unless you're driving a beater they need to come up on your GTI a thousand or two.

The trade-in is where people lose a lot of money when negotiating.
