But does anyone know - while the car is stationary - if video playback support on the Virtual Cockpit is supported?

probably. check out this video i found on youtube of the virtual cockpit playing video:
skip to around the 2:15 mark
cant see a reason why you would want to play video on such an awkward screen though. the gauges are covering most of the video..
i wonder if the emmanuelleDesign VIM unlock dongle works for the facelift versions?

Purely for demo purposes. It looks like they have OTA TV signals built into the car software though, which may mean it is a region specific unlock.
