When Dynamic drive mode isn't really Dynamic drive mode...
I'm not sure if this is my particular 2017 S3 or not, or if this is a bug or by design. But in any event...
Can another 2017 S3 owner confirm the following behavior when turning the car off while in Dynamic drive mode? When the car is turned back on, Dynamic is still shown as the current drive mode in the dashboard, but isn't actually enabled; it feels/sounds more like Auto mode. You need to cycle through the drive modes to actually re-enable Dynamic.
Any comments or observations here would be appreciated.
Thanks.

when you restart everything is in dynamic mode except for the transmission. Transmission will always start in "d"mode, as they do not recommend "S" mode until the car is warmed up. Just click the shift lever back, no need to cycle through the drive modes.

This behavior is true for all Audis with ADS. The engine throttle and transmission gear software maps will always start up in "D" mode (same as Comfort/Auto in the MMI settings). It also has to do with the EPA mpg statements by Audi. They will always test in the most economical mode for certification.

Although it seems my understanding of Auto mode was completely wrong. It's just a label as opposed to being literal in function. I thought it might have some sort of active processing that would adjust certain drive qualities automatically. It seems it's just a static bank of values like Comfort or Dynamic.

What do you mean, "click the shift lever"?
