My wife really likes athe a3 she's looking at an 09 w 32000 miles what should I look for I combed through here looking for other posts like this. I'm mainly concerned w engine trans issues... She's had a Honda element for about 8 years but misses the 01 turbo beetle she had before.

Are there known reliability issues?
Any thing to watch out for?

I have an o9 a3 2.0 quattro its been at the dealership for the last month with ecm issues bill so far has been about $4000 and climbing I have had nothing but issues and heard a lot of the same problems from other people about this car. Be careful love the car but hate all the problems

Bought a 2009 2.0 with Quattro last June, had 38k miles. I've dealt with a few problems since then. The water pump went recently which was the biggest bummer. It's incredibly fun to drive - I literally get a high every time I drive the car. Quattro was amazing this past winter with above average snow in New England. I'd highly recommend it, but mine has definitely needed some TLC. Hoping to go problem-free for a while.
