A3 Sirius question - would really appreciate help
Just bought a 2007 A3. Wired for Sirius, but lacks the module. Dealer says the module model number is 8E0 035 593 Q with a price of $595. I know these types of questions have been posted millions of times, and I apologize for being millions+1, but I can't find the specific answer. Are there other models that will work instead of the Q version? If so, which one(s) do you recommend? Thanks for any and all help.

You can use any reciever revision (although I'd bypass the original 8E0 035 593/8E0 057 593 (letterless) receiver.
As you may know there are both XM and Sirius receivers. Since Sirius-XM recently "re-merged" their programming so that channels now match between the two services your main choice is based on the programming differences--one has baseball and the other football, etc.
Once you've decided on a service you can get a receiver. Because you have an '07 you may have either a single- or dual-lead antenna. Receivers also come in either single- or dual-antenna connector models. You can use either but you have to make the receiver happy for it all to work right. If you have a dual-lead antenna and a single-connector reciever you just ignore the antenna lead that doesn't match the color of the receiver's connector. If you have a single-lead antenna and a dual-connector reciever you'll have to get a splitter to make both connections. Otherwise both are singles/duals and everything matches.
FYI: Sirius reciever revisions: D, F, H, L, N, Q
XM reciever revisions: E, G
Dual antenna connections: D,E,F,G
Single antenna connections: H,L,N,Q
Manufacturing cutover from dual to single antenna for the A3:
VIN WAU..8P..7A105278
A good source for recievers is e-Bay. Search on Audi Sirius or Audi XM.

Outstanding reply - thanks. Based on the VIN, mine is single antenna. Given that, is there any advantage among the H,L,N,Q modules? I already have a Sirius subscription (this A3 replaces one that sacrificed itself when a car pulled out in front of us!), so I'm just going to transfer the account.
Again, thanks.
Again, thanks.

I would think that any of them would be sufficient. Also note that VW used the same receivers in their cars until they switched to an integrated receiver.
I have seen messages from owners who bought a receiver that the subscription had expired that wouldn't reactivate. That may be the reason they revise the units. If you go with a used unit I"d make sure that I could return it if it didn't work.

Question here...
Dealer gave me a used 4E0035593A SW: 4E0910593C XM receiver.
I have a single antenna on the car and this receiver has dual.
Any idea what the part number is for the splitter? I have searched all over the internet and can't find it.
Thanks in advance for the help.

You may have to trim the plastic on the connectors to get them to fit.
