Anyone has experience with Audi 1.4 TFSI engines?
Hi, first time poster here. I'm looking for feedback regarding the engine. I was hoping to see if someone has an advice regarding Audi A3 1.4 TFSI, S-tronic, 2009 year that I've set my eyes on. I checked out the car and I really liked it (have been scouting Audis for awhile as it's the car I enjoy driving). The problem comes with 1.4 TFSI engines. I've read a lot of bad stories regarding 1.4 TSI engines used on Golfs which is basically the same as 1.4 TFSIexcept the newest EA211 model. The biggest issue is with the timing chain that it slips few teeths, gets loose, stretches and breaks the engine.
It's a common know fault, but here's the catch. The car had the chain replaced at Audi official service very recently and is still under the warranty. However, my friend said he heard a colleague have the same problem even after the chain was replaced. The car has 150.000km mileage. I would expect at least 50.000km more without big issues. As I don't have long commutes I am not too worried about the high mileage or am I being naive and should stay away from this model altogether?

I got the same engine, just with a manuel transmission.
My car did have the issue with the chain. Good thing is that Audi gives a warning in the display before it brakes it all. There is a new version of the chain + other parts so when replacing those should be used and you should not experience any further issues.
I honestly love the motor which gives a good combination between horsepower and fuel usage.
