S3 as daily driver?
Can any S3 owners out there comment on the S3 as a daily driver? My current vehicle is a 2015 Q5 TDI which I love but I drove an S3 last weekend and can't stop thinking about it. Whereas the Q5 is ultra conservative the S3 is just so much fun to drive. The Q5 is safe, stylish, roomy, gets great milage, has tons of torque and is a great daily driver in all four seasons in the Washington, D.C. area. I really want to trade it on an S3 but don't know if the S3 will be too much of an adjustment from the all-season daily drivability, versatility and mileage of the Q5. I'm also 47 and don't know if the S3 is age appropriate. Any thoughts, feedback and comments would be appreciated.

What?......SUV's are for people who don't know any better. Period. The S3 will go through anything the Q5 will. And it will do it faster, smoother, get better gas mileage, and has the smile factor built into the chassis.
I'm 47 too...I drive and my little 3 is perfect! Love it....

And you will actually be driving a real machine, capable of so many things that are just pure enjoyment and fun.

your concerns are refreshing ... i do think a car says a lot about the driver. whether you like or not. . .
debadge the s3 ... then you wont seem like you're trying to hard.
i don't agree that SUV's are for stupid people ... but i do agree that the S3 will finesse the f*ck out of any weather DC will throw at you. and it'll be easier to zip around the city.

Im 56 and i have a S3 with APR stage 2+ coilovers etc and it puts a smile on my face every time i drive it. Previous cars have all been V8 cars tuned, cammed and lowered. Big enough to fit the family in and grunt to enjoy on my own. But now the kids have grown up and not needing a large car i was looking for a small but quick car to have fun in. Well the S3 ticked every box and more.
Cheap on fuel, quicker off the mark especially in the wet and better handling. Love my S3.
