Hey everyone,

I'm new to this forum, spent most of my time on vwvortex (however that forum is dead.)

I recently purchased a 2008 Audi A5 3.2 sline, and it's 6-speed manual. I have this bizzard clunking noise from the front of the vehicle which is most prominent when I turn the wheel in either direction (and normally when I'm not even moving.) It's most easily heard when I'm pulling into or backing out of a parking space or garage. Not at full lock.

The noise comes literally as the wheel turns left or right and continues to clunk - not related to the vehicle being in motion, almost sounding like strut tops or something. I've visually inspected everything in the front and I have no damage, no loose componets, no worn bushings etc. But it sounds like it make be the steering colum, the joint at the bottom of the shaft, or possibly the steering rack?

Any help would be greatly appreciated.
