A5 ami cable help

I've been trying to connect my iPhone 5 to my audi via the ami cable, i had to go out and buy a usb ami cable in order to connect the iPhone 5 bc the standard it comes with can only connect the iPhone 4s and older. It keeps saying no playable media available or something like that..? anyone know why this is?

Get the lightning adapter for your phone. The USB Ami cable is for attaching USB mass storage with mp3 files on them.

There is a lightning AMI cable available that passes video. Not sure of the part number. Only available in Europe.
