Default Build 2017 Audi S5 - Disappointed

You can build a 2017 S5 at Audi USA. I noted the comfort seats and driver assist package are not offered. Very few options available.

I guess it's to be expected considering the new model is around the corner. I was thinking about ordering one, but not now.

A fully loaded 2017 Cab is $67,975. My fully loaded 2013 Cab was $73K.

I was just playing with 2017 S5 build configurator in the Audi USA website and also noticed that Adaptive Cruise Control is no longer offered as an option. The only driver assist features left are side assist and park assist with rear view camera that is available under the Technology Package which prospective owners will definitely want to include in their cars.

This is my first post. I noticed that Audi had just recently updated their site to include the 2017 A5/S5 model. I am HOPING that it was an oversight that these features were not added. I have been trying to decide which new Audi I wanted in 2017, an A7 or an S5. This may have made the decision for me.

So, their final 2017 Special Edition package will simply be devoid of options? :-)

Yup. I am surprised that Audi US decided to offer just one trim level with options such as Technology Pack, Black Optics Pack, Black Optics Plus Pack, Sports Diff, Adaptive Damping Suspension, and Nappa Leather.

For Canada, we get the same two trims, Progressive and Technik, plus another uber trim called Dynamic which is exclusive for 2017. Dynamic is Technik with bundled Adaptive Damping Suspension and Sport Diff, and Black Alcantara/Leather combo Sport Seats. Adaptive Cruise Control is still offered as an option. It is unclear whether Black Optics is included in the Dynamic Pack.

I was just taking another look at the S5 on the Audiusa site. Doesn't the new interior have the full LCD instrument cluster and a different shifter? The images they show online and in the brochure still look to show 2016.

The 2017 Audi A5/S5 sold in North America is still the B8.5 model. You're referring to the B9 A5/S5 which will be available starting spring next year (2017) as a 2018 model.

You can still get driver assist (adaptive cruise and dynamic steering). It is just sold order only, so you will have to talk to your dealer about it.

I just ordered a 2017 S5. I was highly disappointed that the new interior of the 2017 A4 is not available for the 2017 S5. The reason I still ordered 2017 S5 was because it is still one of the only high end AWD cars left with a manual transmission. I did not want to wait and see another year if the 2018 S5 will have a manual transmission. The 2017 A4 has been up on the audi website for sometime and still they do not have a manual transmission available. I still like manual transmission but don't want to drive a Subaru or VW since those are low end cars. The 2017 S5 may be the last luxury AWD cars produced with a manual transmission. I'm glad i put in the order. If you're not into manual transmission I would wait for the 2018 S5 since the interior looks much better.

Does anyone know when the S5 will be into the dealerships?
