Dashboard/AC Turns Off at Stop while Engine Runs
I have a 2012 S5 Coupe. For the first time ever today I had the same problem 3 times driving home from work.
If I was stopped at a red light etc for more than 15-20 seconds the dashboard lights all went out, the AC turned off, emergency lights didn't work, but the engine continued to run. I was still in drive but when I tried to give it gas the "Brake" light came on and I didn't want to mess anything up so I stopped. I guess it's some sort of emergency feature. Everything in the MMI seemed functional, but I was on the phone at the time so didn't navigate through different screens.
After putting the car in P and turning the engine off then on again I was able to drive fine.
Any idea what would cause this?
