Default Toll roads with no front plate?

No front plate and the EZPass fails to work, they take a picture and probably can't trace the car. If your EZPass is linked to your license plate you might try it and check the EZPass website and see if your rear plate came up. There's no penalty (they just charge your EZPass if the plate is caught on camera).

Ironically in Germany front plates are 100% required, and there is no option to not run with one. I like the way the cars look without them too, but I also find that our local police tend to enforce the license plate laws..

Texas requires a front plate, therefore I've never had one and have never had a problem.

I've gone back and forth on this. Went for three years in TX without a front plate, no problem. Then moved to IL and went 5 years without a front plate, but finally got ticketed when parked overnight at O'Hare Airport. City of Chicago is notorious for getting people that way - folks who live in the city generally get cited for this all the time whereas those of us in the 'burbs have it easy. Bottom line is: the odds of being cited really depend on where you live and drive.
