Toll roads with no front plate?
Same issue here in Maryland. Just purchased a 2014 RS5 and I'm not planning on installing a front plate. In fact my wife and I have owned cars in Maryland for 2 years and we haven't had any problems. We have a family member here who has had several exotic cars that he won't install front plates on. Apparently it's a $75 fine if you're pulled over. He pays it and moves on.

Ironically in Germany front plates are 100% required, and there is no option to not run with one. I like the way the cars look without them too, but I also find that our local police tend to enforce the license plate laws..

I've gone back and forth on this. Went for three years in TX without a front plate, no problem. Then moved to IL and went 5 years without a front plate, but finally got ticketed when parked overnight at O'Hare Airport. City of Chicago is notorious for getting people that way - folks who live in the city generally get cited for this all the time whereas those of us in the 'burbs have it easy. Bottom line is: the odds of being cited really depend on where you live and drive.
