Start/Stop System Fault - Function Unavailable
Dear Friends,
I had a starter failure right after I parked my car in the garage.
Initially i though it was the battery as i have had the car for 5 years and never had to change it. So i called the battery guy who changed my battery but he used a booster on the battery poles (this wasn't suppose to happen).
Immediately after the change i got the start/stop system failure note on my screen. Again the car wouldn't start.
We managed to move the car downhill and start using 2nd gear (its manual).
Went to the mechanic and changed starter but still start/stop system is not working nor it is automatically programmed itself as everybody else said.
The error i get in engine module using Xtool is:
P305300
Starter activation,
return message terminal 50-Short circuit to ground (GND)/ open circuit active/static
Went finally to the dealer's which i avoid and said the car has to stay in to check all cabling as they said they couldn't find anything.
Please help...i suspect the starter failure burnt a fuse or relay somewhere, or the booster burnt a battery terminal fuse. Before the battery change there was no errors on screen even if the car didn't start.
