Default Tire Trouble! Need some advice

Hello everybody. I'm new here and wanted to say hello first off. I ordered an 2015 S5 and its due to arrive on Nov 11th. My question to everybody is that I commute from Albuquerque, NM to Phoenix, AZ every two weekends during the winter months. The problem is that ABQ gets snow and is in high elevation. I have to travel through snowy mountain areas on my way to PHX. If any of you know what PHX is like during the winters. Its usually in the high to low 70's and dry. I would have no problem buying snow tires but will I ruin them in PHX because of the higher temperatures? Any advice if you were in my shoes.
Thanks, Frank

Default For me the Answer is All Season Tires

There are several threads discussing tires, particularly all-season vs. winter. Nobody has the one true answer; the only good answer is what works for YOU. In snow all-seasons will give better traction than summer tires, but no where as good traction as winter tires. It seems to me you need to balance these attributes and in your shoes I would (and do) opt for all-season. Unless you drive at 7/10ths and above you will never notice the difference between summer and all-season tires during the summer and during the colder months the all-season will seriously out-perform the summer tires which lose traction badly when cold.

Go with Michelin Pilot Sport A/S 3. They will be fine in the snow and good on dry as well. I use them in Chicago where we have both extremes.

Thanks for the info. That is what I needed to hear from Audi owners. Been reading mixed reviews about all season tires in the snow. If its good enough for your cars that good enough for me.
