Update on Volvo Polestar...
...Posted here as I have an RS5 and it came up a couple of times in my recent posts. I noticed an add here on our dear website offering 2016 Volvo Polestars for lease at under 700/month at Culver City Volvo (here in LA). Only about 120 Avants coming into the country and they have five! Turns out the folks there are quite cool car guys - the Sales manager has a beautiful Porsche Slantnose.
I drove the Polestar (in Rebel Blue) and it was a really fun and responsive car. I would so love an Audi S4/RS4 Avant and it teases me when I see them in Germany. So, they worked up some numbers that included taking my RS5 in trade. I appreciate the conundrum as they would have to then wholesale the car. In the end the numbers didn't work so we will stay with our S4/RS5 combo and I remain delighted.
However, I also remain tickled with the car and if I sold the RS5 privately, I would go back with an offer. They still have three left. If you have a chance to drive one of the Polestars, I highly recommend the opportunity. The Swedes have a particular take on performance that leaves me smitten. In the early 2000's I had two Saab 9-5 Aero's with mods and they were the belle of the ball back then. Forced induction 2.3 litre four cylinder with 16-valve technology, independent electrical cassettes for each cylinder and conservatively rated at 250hp. Japanese Aisin transmission was bulletproof. Most comfortable seats I have every had (30 cars). The new Polestar continues the Viking vibe. Plus, I was unlikely ever to see another one in the canyons, where 911's of all stripes, GTR's, M3/4/5's are stacked up like cordwood. Even the RS5 is common (counted five in one 200 mile loop).
Happy Motoring and glad to be in the RS5

Glad that you sticked with the RS5. Funny thing is that before I got my RS5 I was looking at the polestars but I wanted to do the European delivery program and they, unfortunately, don't offer that.
I guess things happen for a reason after all!
