Default Limp mode under heavy acceleration

hey everyone, I just recently purchased a 2009 audi s5 with the 4.2l engine and im already having some issues with it. My local dealer is completely useless as they had my car for an entire month and couldn't figure anything out and just kept clearing the codes and giving it back to me.

Basically, whenever I am doing something like merging onto the highway, it will go into limp mode as soon as I hit 4,000 rpms. It just loses all power and the epc light comes on and acceleration is crap after that. it does not happen all the time, mainly 4th gear. and only when I take off from a low rpm. I am getting 2 fault codes on it
P2293 - fuel pressure reg 2
P0087 - fuel rail/system pressure too low

The car has a brand new low pressure pump, both high pressure pumps, and low pressure sensor. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Any competent dealer should be able to diagnose fuel pressure. They should even be able to log it while the car is running. The same ecu that trips the codes sees the fuel pressure.

OTOH, now you know why the car was up for sale. Check your state's lemon laws and any recourse you may have for what appears to be a used car.

The dealership here is completely useless. We only have one here in indianapolis and they had it for an entire month. At first they said hpfp so those were replaced. Then they said o2 sensor but did nothing about it because the following week they said it's the cats. Then the following week they said it's the alternator. And then I finally said screw it and picked the car up when they called me and told me my motor mounts were throwing the fuel codes......

I know this is simplistic but have they changed the fuel filter?

That's what I was wondering.

I had a pre-FSI V8, an 05 that had this problem on day 2 of my ownership.

The fuel pressure regulator on my model was built into the fuel filter. I had the dealer change it out and that cleared my EPC light and low fuel pressure.

New symptom. Driving home from work at a steady 50mph and noticed it started to sound a little odd. So I gave it a little gas and sure enough it was misfiring and the check engine light started flashing and the epc light came on
