ya, leave the switch alone. the cherry button is like a torque up sport mode in lower gear and it will raise your suspension from 1 to 4 instant in the level control button.

the recode is defintaly spring stiffness, or rate...

I didn't understand that in total.
There's not need to download software "illegally" if it's already free. lol

http://www.ross-tech.com/vcds/download/

Just pick which Ross-Tech VagCom cable you have and download it.

I don't want to sound mean, but that won't give you the functionality you probably will need for an allroad.

Follow this and see if you can find a seller on the forums.

"17mm in the front and 13mm in the rear will make your car noticeably lower, and you probably shouldn't go any lower. As for height, 20mm was accepted by the vehicle, however, no driving was done at this level, so please excercise caution and common sense. And remember the disclaimer above!!!"

So does this mean we can only lower it less than an inch?
Id like to eliminate the wheel gap (on Level one) and thats it...but thats a couple inches.

Nah, you can do more. Its a matter of preference.
I have mine dropped one of my Allroads quite a bit, I'd say an inch.
I have the stiffer Arnott Gen II in the with worn stock shocks, and new Arnott Bilstein shocks with stock air bags in the rear. THIS combination with 25mm drop results in a bouncy ride in level one (no surprise!). Particularly the front is totally underdampened.

Unfortunately, Arnott has NOT responded to my request to buy their Bistein/Arnott, they send it directly to Bilstein for revalving, Bilstein sends it to me. Until I found a practical way, I will live with the bounce in level 1, use level 2 for normal driving.

The other Allroads sits a tad bit higher, maybe 20mm. Stock bags and shocks. Rides ok in level 1.

Note: I have long abandoned using the '402mm' measurement, since finding the 'center' of the wheel is impractical. Instead, I have followed the suggestion from a poster and measure from the rim edge to the bottom of the fender. I forgot the number that corresponds to 402mm on stock 17" wheels, but I thing it was like 178mm or so.

Lets try the math:
402-17/2*25.4=186mm

Need to check again.
