New guy here. Been lurking since I bought my 2003 Allroad, dealing with the usual suspension and compressor issues.

Yesterday started hearing a clacking sound that got worse during a 30 minute drive. Seems to grow stronger when I push the gas pedal, and disappear when I let it go. I recorded the sound in the hope somebody out here could help me identify it before I go to the shop and pay $$.

Any thoughts?

didnt really hear any "clacking", but it could be several things
center driveshaft, the cv's on either end could be worn out
cv axles to the wheels could be worn out

The clacking is pretty faint, don't want to wait until it gets worse though..

It's 223,000km. It's coming from somewhere in the front middle, not on one of the sides like I'd expect from axles. Although now that I think about it, I did hear more of that noise when turning left and less when turning right.

Going to the shop later today to see what's what. Will update.

My guess is CV, if you go with an axle replacement, go Raxles.
