Default getting set up for ecu flashing

Hey, so I have been doing a lot of research to get set up to tune my own ECU. I cant find the info needed to build a bench flashing cable that would use a PCM connector, and obd port. I did a search on a few audi forums, and nothing with good pictures for the 7.1.1 ECU.

If anyone has any info that could help me get this part set up, I would greatly appreciate it.

Thanks, Connor.

My buddy who builds some pretty cool Audis uses unitronics and highly recommends it. I think I might go that route even though there is not a lot of info available for it. I'll update the thread here in a few weeks when I get it all set up. I have my AR all apart right now.

Is this a "tuning suite" or just an interface to load Unitronics tunes?

It is a complete tuning suite, and my buddy seems to have great luck with it.
He tunes his 2008 A4 with it, and says he has multiple maps on his laptop. He uses a 10psi map for daily driving, and when the weekends come he uses a 19psi map. I read that it is specifically geared towards ME7.1+ computers, so I have high hopes.

I cant find much info on it, which I think is a good thing. Its a well kept secret (I hope).
Its reasonably priced, and hard to find. You have to go to a dealer and buy it. There happens to be a shop about 30 mi away that sells it, so when I get my car done I will be going to pick it up.

Once I get it up and running, I am going to be doing a thread on it, so that other guys can get on the ball. If it sucks, Ill be the one to tell all.

I would appreciate a follow up once you get it running. Their side is a bit vague, and makes it sound like you can only load their canned tunes. I spent over $600 for HP Tuners, and this set up is less than Ross Tech. It would be insane if this could handle all the VAG-Com stuff, plus tweak your tune.

Ya it is supposed to handle all diagnostics and emissions stuff. My buddy who is an Audi specialist says he doesn't even use VAG-COM, he can do it all with uconnect

Since I don't know anyone around here with an AWD dyno, I am going to resort back to my old ways of tuning on the street. My old running buddy used to have this cool gadget he used to detect spark knock, and I am in the process of making one. I think I am going to get a How-to write up so that guys can check and see if they are detonating and not even knowing it. It is pretty hard to tell sometimes, and this tool I am making is a sure fire way to hear it longggg be for any knock sensor will detect it.

I can use the tool to get the timing curve set perfect on the street, so no need to waste money on dyno time, or paying someone else to tune it. Plus, the way guys set timing on the dyno is not always failsafe from spark knock. I blew through a set of forged pistons on a build, due to detonation, after paying to have it tuned by a place in Charlotte.

If you really want to know the lowdown on self tuning, NefMoto - Index is the place you need to go.

That's a pretty intense forum. They have a lot of very dialed in info. I've looked into nefmoto and it seems like a very complicated program.
