The high beams blink when I use the left turn signal.

Right turn signal works correctly.

I was thinking it was the turn signal stalk but now I am unsure.

I tried the emergency flasher switch and the headlights blink also.

Stalk or flasher relay?

I was trying to clean \ replace the turn signal \ headlights lever, you can buy cheaply on eBay. It is recommended to determine if there have been no improvisation in the lights electrical system of (maybe wrong connection)

Turned out to be some type of wiring issue behind the left headlight. The dealer said it looked like the wires had been chewed on.

They had to do some rewiring. This was expensive of course. ($500).

Just to fix the left turn signal.

Logically I want to sell the car as I do not really need it but when I look at it in the garage I want to keep it.

That was a double chew: as the dealer chewed your wallet. $500!!! It must be some 24k gold wires they put in
