2002 allroad . 2.7t, 6 spd, 79000 miles on the dot . seems to be running good, except for a low coolant light(no dealerships within 150 miles). as far as i know the timing belt has never been replaced. i really need to get busy with that.

Indeed! It's not just the mileage, it's age too. Get that TB done asap.

Why would you say Throttle Body, when clealy GTA was describing Timing Belt as a reply?

Yeah ok so the miles may be low but doesn't mean the parts aren't old/worn.

Come on son!

My wife got her mother's gray '04 4.2 with only 50K miles, but we're selling it since we don't have the space for a 3rd car. Let me know if you're aware of anyone who might be interested (reply or PM). I'm in the San Francisco Bay Area. Apologies in advance for the spam.

I may have most everyone beat for low mileage by year. My wife's 12 year old, 2002 allroad has only 49K miles. Looks like new. My dealer wanted it badly and offered us almost private retail but my wife said no way.

I had the timing belt, tensioners and water pump done 3 years ago on our 2002 at 40K mi. My indy showed me how the belts were getting brittle just due to age, not miles. If yours hasn't been done, you're on borrowed time.

Our 2004 Allroad crossed 70K miles this summer, still running perfectly although I did have to change a 5 year old Arnott air bag this summer.
