Default Newbie with 01 Allroad assist needed

Hello, new from Orlando with a 150K recent purchase. I'm lucky to have a dear friend who owns a Euro service shop and he just replaced timing belt, motor mounts, fixed A.C brakes redone, suspension etc. (3Kparts) I'm still throwing a code related to emissions and trying to get it done without breaking the bank, I don't really care if O2 shows code, but can't tell if something else is bad if I always show a check engine light.

Front drooped on drivers side and we are ordering Arnott parts for both sides with the lifetime warranty. It seems to be fairly peppy and a little thirsty.

We intend to leave the car under a Noah cover outside Asheville with solar charger to use when we fly to cabin.

Where can I get the little switch with the reset, nav, etc and the rotating switch (missing ****) replaced or send to be repaired? I would like to see digital mph and reset the mileage (shows 15.9 now)? Is there a source to get a manual to learn the tricks to this neat little car? I'm told I will love it in the mountains.

Thanks in advance and I look forward to getting to know this little guy better. I have the Snail, 1983 300SD, a new Cummins 4x4, a Passat diesel and a couple others, I just like old stuff. So does my wife or she never would have married me.

One more question if you don't mind, what does the group like for those rubber mats in the cargo area?

Thanks in advance.

Very kind reply, thank you. I bought the manual immediately and will search for the switch.

I like the car a lot and plan to keep it till the wheels fall off.

I may put a piece of tape over the mileage numbers to avoid fuel related depression!

Thanks again.

Thanks again for the link. I got the owner's manual. It cost a little more than I hoped, but you were right.... it's worth the money. The button I was concerned about was the antiquated nav system that I don't need.

If you want the online version, here: https://doc-00-10-docs.googleusercon...l64qgvk57b1afo

If you have the updated cd, that antiqued navigation works better than 2014 Garmin unit(drove with both on and the audi gps gives proper in advance warnings for turns, plus it turns down the radio volume). You can get a navi switch on e bay for $25. Worth it in my opinion.

Great info, do you know source for updated CD? I'm all over this.

I will start searching for the nav switch.

Too cool

I have an Allroad 2001 pretty clean shape after buying more parts than the car cost. Thanks to you sir

Are you working or just a nightowl? I can't sleep from recent kidney cancer/removal failed lumbar fusion and cervical fusion.

You have to buy the whole nav control unit to get the **** ...Audi does not sell the ***** alone. The unit is around $100. They ALWAYs break too; I never had much luck trying to fix the back of the **** either.

Def worth trying the eBay **** even if it is expensive.
