Default Power Window Problem

Hello. I've got a 2001 Allroad that both the drivers side and passenger side windows are either very slow to go up, or even need a bit of manual assistance. Is this common at just over 100k miles? And am I looking at replacing both window motors? Thanks.

I'd look at the window guides first, they are the more likely cause as they get packed with dirt over time. You might try greasing the upper (exposed) guides with some silicone grease to see if that helps them, if it does it is more likely the guides are either gumed up, or worn to the point of misalignment. To really fix you'll need to pull the inner door panels to see what is in the guides and to check to see if they are still running true.

motors/regulators are a possible issue but I'd look at what is loading the motors first since they still are running.

fj..

Default x2 - the guides

New window guides are very inexpensive. To remove the door panels there are two screws up top one forward and one aft, after removal of the screw lift the panel straight up (no tugging) they easily lift right up.

Hey,
I Heard That 2001 Allroad Has Power Windows Problems Especially The Rear One.
The two most common problems Are:
1.Defective window lift motor
2.problem with the master switch.

I am using Audi Allroad Quattro 2005. I am very satisfied with the window and interior.
