Default Radio Upgrade Options?

Looking to replace the oem head unit ideally with something offering bluetooth and a hands free system... Anyone know of an updated Audi option, or an option that'll fit into the same opening?
Mine has the Phat noise or phatbox in the trunk which I doubt I could even find software for and would be pleased to find something with bluetooth.
Thanks

I just tackled this on my '02 Bose Allroad. Went with a Kenwood double DIN that had BT, Sirius and hands free everything. Could not justify spending the $1500 for an RNS-E that would still need add-ons to get to the same place. Bought it all at Crutchfield. If you need more info on the install, PM me...

I have a KWV20BT in mine. Got it on sale for around 200$ CDN. Install parts all came from Enfig for me, but I'm sure Crutchfield has the same parts.

I didn't care for steering wheel controls so that saved like 50-75$.

I installed a Kenwood Excelon DPX791BH; Sirius tuner [that plugs in]; Crutchfield supplied the harness adapters but you also need the filters to suppress a nasty thump from the speakers if you have the Bose. Crutchfield did not originally supply the filters and it was unusable without them. One call to Crutchfield and they sent them out for free. I also got the mounting kit from enfigcarstereo.com [Enfig RMK15-A6]. They had the best price at $29 shipped. The only other issue that I had with the install was getting the old radio out. I had to mongo it with no damage to the console because some ham fisted former owner had hacked it up the last time it came out. Finally, drop the glove box when doing the install. Takes two minutes and makes life easier in fitting the harness connectors, filters, etc. because there is not much room directly behind the radio.

I'll agree about the wiring. My double din still pokes out about 10 mm or so.

However, if you're really going for a flush look, don't get the enfig harness. It is not the exact same colour of black as the rest of the allroad interior trim. It's a little lighter colour. Secondly, if your radio is as dumb as mine and decided to put the usb input on the back, it will be VERY difficult to pass through any wires to the front without using a drill. (Making it look less professional.) I'm not sure of any other harnesses out there, but just thought I'd let you know.

Also, here's a good guide for it.

Default Nexus 7

Or go the Nexus 7 direction. I'm changing my Symphony I Bose with a Google Nexus 7. I expect to have all parts next week.

Kiertzner, please post when you get your Google Nexus 7 installed. I am very interested in seeing how it goes as I am thinking of doing the same myself.
