Default Suspension question.. Light is solid on dash.

I recently purchased an 2001 allroad with a bad r/f air bag.
Replaced both left & right front bags. Car is still down in the weeds!
So my question is, does the suspension comp go into a default mode when it senses a bad bag/ air leak ? And what would be my next step in correction this problem? Thank you j kopo

You will need to hook up VAG COM (diagnostic software) to read what is going on with the suspension computer.

The suspension computer will time out if a number of things happen. Things like if the compressor gets too hot, one or more of the level sensors is way out of range, time limit on compressor run time. Things like that.

What exactly happened after you replaced the air springs? Did you turn on the car?

What you need to do is lift up both front sides to where the car would be at level 2. Turn on the car; if the airsprings are seated properly and your compressor is not shot, the springs should inflate... Try that and report back...

I would start with G78 FL leveling sensor, Look for bad electrical contact in the socket and plug, he is also associated to the level system and to J431 (A computer for automatic hade Lights height control) . But before that you should erase fault codes from the computers they disrupt the system work (copy them and delete) Then you'll see what codes if back.
When you lift the the car or\and when you repair the height System component the car must be in "JACK MOOD" and Main switch is turned off.
Is recommended to check the air bag \ shock absorber for Air leaks Before you connect it in the car.
for the test You can switch between the right front height sensor and the left front sensor they are the same
