Transmission in the 4.2L Allroad
I've another question, if someone who owns a 01-05 Allroad with the 4.2L engine, and auto transmission could help me with.
What is the ID of the transmission fitted to your car? Mine is what Audi calls a "O1V", which is actually a ZF 5hp19. According to my Bentley software, this was only fitted to engines of much lower power/torque.
From what I can see from the Bentley software is that a "01L" transmission should be fitted (This is actually a ZF 5hp24)
The 5hp19 fitted to my car has, according to ZF, a maximum torque rating of 350nm, where as the 4.2L allroad engine produces in excess of this. The 5hp24 can handle much more torque/power.
I have some concern because we bought the car second hand, and soon after we bought it, it became apparent that the transmission was struggling a bit, and I've only kept it going OK by doing oil changes every 10,000 km. I'm concerned that a transmission change was done by the previous owner and the wrong transmission was fitted. Sounds a bit far fetched, but I guess I'd like to know.
Thanks in advance.

All allroads are equiped with the 5hp19 including the 4.2 which was built from 2004 to 2005 if you have a 2004 there is a chance you'll need to change your torque converter some day because of an inefficient seal.

That's not what the demo cd-rom that came with my Allroad says. 5HP24 was the transmission choice.

The 5HP19 is correct, at least that is what is in my 4.2 allroad. You can crawl under the car and look at the tranny and there is a label right there with the model number.
The 5HP24 was used in the C5 S6 and I think 4.2 A6.

There appears to be a dissonance of opinion here. Many posts on this forum say that 5HP19 was the only transmission for 2.7T, whereas all 4.2L got 5HP24.
And yet, here are 2 experiences of 4.2 coupled with 5HP19.
Go figure.
P.S. The demo CD-ROM also says the 4.2 got 5HP24.

An Allroad 4.2 should have a ZF 5HP19FLA transmission with a FXL trans coding. This is based off US spec vehicles AFAIK. It is a 01V transmission.
The 5HP24A is listed for A6/S6 4.2 Audi's as well as the D2 A8, not an Allroad.

Who has a C5 Allroad with a ZF 5HP24A?
From what I read here, no one actually has the ZF 5HP24A bolted up to their 4.2L C5 Allroad or do does someone?
Next question if the ZF 5HP24A can be bolted up to the 4.2L Allroad, what about the 2.7T???
