Break-in Period for an S5
Any suggestions for break-in periods? I really want to see what my car can do on the Autobahn, but I am a little worried about possibly harming new my car.

When we picked ours up in Ingolstadt last year, we were told that we had to keep her under 3000 RPM for the first 600 miles or roughly 1000km. They will let you know at pick up. We were able to reach 125 MPH at 2800 RPM. A6 3.0t

Thank you, that's great news. I doubt I would exceed that with my wife in the car anyway. By the time we get back to Germany from France I will be over the 600 miles.

I had the same worries, but you only live once and will only have one opportunity to legally drive over 100mph in that car. Hahah. I think we were told to stay under 4000RPM for the first 1000km. Yeah if you don't PUSH it, you can easily go 100+ on the Autobahn without your car breaking a sweat. Yeah I want to say my SQ5 cruises at around 2000RPM at 80mph. At 100-120mph, it's definitely under 3000RPM. I think I may have come close to 4000RPM to pickup speed, when I finally jumped into the fast lane of the Autobahn, cuz guys are FLYING in that lane. I only stayed in that lane for maybe a minute, cuz I wasn't ready to go 130-150mph in the new car.
