Default Any idea what type of Bilstein Shock this is?

The rear Bilstein shock numbers on my rear 95.5 with H&R springs are:

3408B46 2065H0

Any one knows what these numbers mean? Is there a way I can tell if it is HD or sport Bilsteins?

Thanks

I'm guessing Dave will know when he sees this... stay tuned, he usually stops by daily.

As far as I can tell, they are rear B6 = HD shocks

There is/was a Bilstein application guide that said/says Old Part number = F4-B46-2065-H0 is now New Part Number = 24-020657

The when you search the pdf (with Ctrl F) for 24-020657, it shows up in the C4 100 quattro and C4 A6/S6 quattro listings as the rear B6 HD shock. It is a Heavy Duty, not a B8 Sport. With H&Rs, because they lower the car so much, B8s would be more appropriate than B6s.

Thanks for the reply... That's exactly what I was thinking based on my reviews in the forum. If my car is H&R then Bilstein Sport should be considered, but when I checked the shocks they appear to be HDs. What should I expect with the Sport shocks?
Will it be firmer or softer than it is now?
Will it lift the car a little bit or lower it?

This is what it looks like now.. It appears the rear is a little higher than the front is that normal?

As far as I know the B6 and B8 shocks are valved the same. However, the B8 shocks are designed specifically for aftermarket lowering springs so I think that you would find that if you bought and installed them, it would lower the car a bit (probably about 1/2" or 3/4" - not much but some. The car should not be lower in the back than the front if the springs are from a properly matched set, i.e. the fronts were made to go with the backs, etc.

Sometimes springs sag. Not sure what your issue would be.
