Default S4 valuations for replacement insurance

After owning numerous quattros, the sale of my '93 100CS quattro 5spd has put me into position to buy a pristine '94 S4, pearl/blk, 75k, 993 fr brakes, stage 2 ecu, '92 S4 susp including the springs and rear sway bar, Konis, Stromung exhaust system. These upgrades to a very fresh car came from a totaled and parted out '92 S4 that met an untimely demise with a snow plow blade in whiteout conditions crossing a mtn pass 10 yrs ago. The '94 S4 was in Oakland, Ca. gently used by a female exec type that eventually succumbed to the appeal of an automatic-shifted newer Audi. It's 2nd owner, my friend, salvaged the best bits from his '92 S4 and transplanted them into her immaculate '94. He even replaced the rear window in the '94 with the '92 version that has the electrically heated 'quattro' rear defrost grid. The car had 49k on it when he bought it in early '04 and he's put 25k on it the last 10 yrs, mostly ski trips. With his 'OCD' style of care and upkeep, it also has extra Hakkapeliita 16" studded snows on 6-spoke Avus style alloys.
6 months ago he was given a terminal brain cancer diagnosis. I am the lucky recipient of his coveted, treasured S4. I have all service/ repair records from new and spares of stuff salvaged from the '92 S4. To benefit his soon-to-be widow I'm paying up for a perfect and sorted car with some 034 bits here and there. How do you value this for insurance replacement if destroyed somehow?

Which carrier/underwriter have you secured coverage from? My captive Farmer's agent pushed my policy application thru his regional office for acceptance at a $15,000 requested valuation. They came back with a request for value documentation on letterhead by Sept 16th or the offer will be rescinded. The agent has inspected the car and agrees it's a real find while knowing little if anything about collectible cars in general, particularly limited production Audis like early 'S' cars. An independent agent that wants to go the Hagerty route has outlined a policy so restrictive that they essentially expect you to not drive the car at all. I told the ind agent that as a retired person, it's not a daily driver and the expected annual mileage I'd put on it will be well under 5k, more like under 2500. They want another car in the family to be less than 10 yrs old. That excludes my working CPA wife's low mileage '99 A4 2.8 Avant, another car we own that justifies a higher valuation than the adjuster will give us should it meet with an untimely incident driving the dreaded "totaled" assessment. We're willing to pay for a policy that addresses our reasonable valuation requests on qthe vehicles. I would think the real underwriting risk lies in the Bodily Injury and Property Damage limits that we now have ( 250k/500k/50k). Yet, when you have to deal with the other driver's Ins Co. if he's at fault, you're back in the same dilemma with your own underwriter in trying to secure fair replacement value over what the other carrier will pay you for your previously well above average value Audi. Any thoughts along these lines? Thanks for your time and feedback.

So sorry to hear about your buddy, that's terrible. If the S4 looks as good as it sounds
it may get in the ~$10 grand range, with only 75k miles. See a few of those each year online.

Thanks for your reply. When we got together to talk price to purchase his treasured '94 urS4 he had a $15,000 number in mind considering its condition and extras. My number was $10,000. I bought it for $12,000 and think I paid up for a great car that would be tough to find for the same money. He didn't have to try to sell it online or otherwise deal with strangers that might propose offers that would have involved bigger spreads. I'm very happy. He and his somewhere-in-the future widow are pleased. He has visitation privileges to drive and reconnect. His next dilemma is to find a buyer for his '87 4000 quattro that has the 20v 2.2 RS2 transplanted with suspension to match. A very fast quattro with about $25k invested. I believe he's going to post the car for sale in the classifieds here.
Thanks for your view, your car looks sweet as well.
