iPhone/iPod compatibilty question with older A5s
Hi All
Music in a car is very important to me. I use my iPhone 6s with Apple music as my sole music source in my current car. [Use I know that for the purists CDs are superior but convenience and capacity wins]
I'm looking at getting an older A5 sport back, probably 2011/12
I took a 2011 for a drive but the Audi sales rep could not tell me how or if the 6s could connect via cable to the audio systems.
Can anyone shed some light?
Cheers

I don't have an answer but would like to know this as well. I have a 2010 A4 Quattro Premium Plus. Can connect Bluetooth for phone but cannot figure out music via my iPhone. Have only had the car two days btw.

I too would like advice
I have a new-to-me 2010 Q5. I bought the $110.00 Lightning cable and my iPhone 5 will connect, I can see the playlists and so on, but it won't play. I get that technology has changed in six years but I'd expect the thing to play. Any thoughts welcome!
Thanks

My daughter has a 2010 Q5. The cable configuration that works in that vehicle to connect to an iPhone 6s Plus is the Audi MMI-30 pin Apple Adapter Cable (Audi P/N 4F0 051 510 K) attached to a standard Apple 30 pin to Apple Lightning Adapter Cable) This Apple cable is available on Amazon but make sure it is an Apple cable. Asian knock-offs cause more problems than I care to recite.
Note, the current Audi MMI - Apple Lightning adapter cable (Audi P/N 4F0 051 510 AL) does not work in the 2010 Q5. I conclude it is "too new." It does work very well, however, in my 2014 RS7 and supports such things as display of album covers and other graphic elements as well as audio from my iPhone 6s.
Good luck with your new Audi's!
