Hey there...I'm new here and am not the most technical person by far, but I know when I'm getting screwed by the dealership! Recently, somehow, I blew the amplifier in my '09 A4 Avant and was quoted, with labor, $1900 to replace. Not only was the cost a shock, but the fact that I blew the amplifier at all as I'm not one to listen to music extremely loud or base heavy, so for this to happen on a 6yr old car with less then 60k was a shocker.

My question is - I'm finding OEM Bang & Olufsen Amplifier's online for well under the price of the dealer and I want to make sure a.) I'm getting the correct part and b.) that there is nothing else I need to do except unplug the old one and plug in the new one - which is becoming an issue in itself: how do I get that purple clip off the back of the unit?!?!

Just had the exact problem in my 09 A4 sedan prestige! and my entire MMI system is not functioning (Nav, Radio, Music, Display, etc..)! so I've been told that I have to change the Amp! but the price was wat too high! so I'm waiting for the replies too

I was lucky enough to find someone in New Jersey who was not only able to fix my amplifier, but reprogram my car so repair will work correctly. $455, which included the $55 Fedex overnight shipping. Sent it to him Friday afternoon for a saturday morning arrival, but 11:30am saturday morning he had texted me saying the unit was fixed and I drove down on sunday to have it reinstalled. Everything was installed and programed and I was back on my way in 35min. WELL worth the 5hrs in the car - upstate NY to Jersey and back. Yes please, that'd be great! idk if I can just send him the amp cuz I can't really drive that far!
