Painless

Well, yeah, I'm a bit conflicted. Took delivery of my A6 TDI premium plus Tornado Grey Metallic in early July. I absolutely love the car. Loads of torque, average 43+ mpg highway and it goes like snot. All the trechno wizardry that I would ever want.

Then whamo. Dieselgate. On the one hand, I'm as mad as hell, being concerned about loss of value and degraded performance from possible future "fixes". On the other hand, it is still a wonderful car, and quite possibly still will be after alterations should loss of performance be minimal.

Having less than 5000 miles on it, I am hesitant to put any more miles on it in case Audi offers a buy back for recent purchases with low mileage, such as below 5000. This in case alterations indeed cause unacceptable degradation of performance.

Talk about being in limbo. This whole thing makes me sick.

Oh man. What a dilemma. The A6 is a great car, I hope they come up with a fix that does not have a large degradation in performance soon.
