For sale; all parts from the 2004 Audi S4 4.2L V8; which had 13x.xxx miles at time of disassembly. The vehicle VIN number is: WAUPL68EX4A163499. All parts are in good usable condition unless otherwise stated. I purchased the car last year, in less than a month there was complete failure in the crankshaft timing chain. At that point I tested the compression (which was good) and then proceeded to rebuild the timing system. After a number of attempts I eventually found a fatal flaw in the bottom end and one of the pistons stuck to the cylinder wall. From there I sourced a new engine and disassembled the old unit to find the cause of the failure. Good news is that none of the valves contacted a piston and the heads as well as all the timing parts are in great condition. All timing parts are essentially brand new, they have less than 45 minutes of total run time on the engine and I still have all the VW/Audi boxes they came in. Some of the parts for sale are from the replacement engine I have installed which had 50.xxx miles upon being removed.

- The engine was torn down and there is clear evidence that one of the pistons being stuck and scoring the cylinder wall. Still the wear is not that severe and the engine could still be re-machined. Please see close up picture of cylinder and failed piston ring
