Is that some kind of heat wrap on left exhaust pipe? What about the right pipe that has none? Also, would like to know what your local muff shop charged for install? My Audi needs 5 hours and $580. Should we talk by pm for pricing and shipping? My local Audi bought all the stuff that StaSIS had but no exhaust stuff, Wonder why?

If you get underneath your a6 and look at the stock exhaust tubes you can see these. Might be at a different location , but has to be there.
Flex pipes are present in both exhaust tubes, but at different locations.
It allows the exhaust tubes to move/flex when engine rocks/shakes on throttle. Part of its job is also to reduce vibration.
Hope this pic helps you locate the flex pipes on both tubes.
One sits right after the header and one is little further down.
