2015 Q3 5K Service
#4
With the Audi's I have had in the US over the last 10 years the first service (I think it is 5K miles) is free, even if you don't have Audi Care (something I have always gotten).

Free would be awesome. It was interesting that when I bought the car they made no mention of Audi Care or an extended warranty. I was so use to getting the high pressure pitch in the past.

One of the reasons I like Audi Care (about $860 for a Q3 I think) is that it covers all scheduled maintenance (labor and parts at 15K, 25K, 35K and 45K miles). The spark plugs need to be replaced on the 2.0 engine at 35K miles at a cost of $400+, so to me Audi Care is a good deal. Check the details on the Audi of America site: "MyAudi", then "for owners", then "service and warranty", then scroll down to Audi Care (it shows the cost of Audi Care and points out the 5K service is free). You can still get it after you buy the car. I like the idea that once I pay for it "upfront" I don't defer required service because at that time I might not want to spend the money or am strapped - plus Audi claims you save up to 39% off the cost of doing it separately at an Audi dealer. When you think of the costs of options like B&O on a new car another $800 or so to ensure the car gets everything it needs in terms of service done properly isn't that much of a hit. I always get it even on leases. You might be able to get your dealer to discount the cost of Audi Care, bitching about the fact they didn't offer it to you when you first bought the Q3 and/or threatening to take it to another Audi dealer for service (assuming there is another one near you). Anyway, good luck.
