Default Tracking Gas Mileage

Is there a way to track gas mileage for a full tank of gas? The mileage always resets itself when you stop for a certain amount of time. I'd like it to keep recording my mileage until I reset it, usually like to do this when I fill-up.

Well, two methods I can think of:

1. Use the trip odometer and reset at your convenience.
2. Trip computer B resets after 99hrs, IIRC.

Trip computer A resets after the car has been shut down for 2hrs (4hrs??).

When I fuel up, I zero out the trip odometer and zero out Trip computer B via the MMI.

Reading the Owner's Manual is going to reveal many features to you that you will enjoy and uitilize

FYI: On some of the newer Audis they refer to Trip computer A as short term memory and Trip computer B is long term memory.

The Q3 has TWO computers, one is a trip computer (resets itself) and the other has to be reset. The second one I use for tracking gas mileage for a complete tank.

For me is about 21 mpg, normal city driving

19.7 sport mode, Senna driving

Thanks, all. I really need to sit down with my owners manual don't I?

Agreed. And there are many tools out there to help you track it, too, for example fuelly.com

Doing it the "old school" way will also let you see just how (in)accurate your on-board computer is.

I use an iPhone app called Fuel. Quite nice and I have used it since day one. Most times when I refill, it tells me the usage for the last tank full is in the range of 8Km/L. It is a bit higher when I do some long out-of-town/highway runs.

Quick correction.. The iPhone app is called Road Trip. I actually have three (Fuel Monitor and MyMPG are the others. I use Road Trip over the other two.
