Add a custom Q5 MMI splashscreen
As an Q5 owner, I figured I'd cross-post this in the appropriate forum...

Basically you can create and install your own custom MMI splashscreen instead of one of the stock ones. I performed this on my Q5 and it worked great.

Thanks.
The link title is a bit misleading. From reading this, it sounds like you don't actually need Vag-Com (VCDS) to perform this. All it takes is just a script file and image file that need to be placed on the SD card. Correct?

I agree, the title is somewhat misleading but it's my own fault as I sort of hi-jacked the thread in the other forum. This could almost use its own thread. But to answer your question - just a custom splash screen image and an SD card with the other appropriate files on it.

It's actually a pretty easy hack and as long as the IMG file is the correct parameters, you are good to go.
