Default Audi Q5 55k Service

Hi Guys

I have a 2012 Audi Q5 3.2 with 52k miles on the clock. Since the 55k mile service is coming up, I have started to search for different service options. I live in Seattle, and both Audi Seattle & Bellevue have quoted me in excess of $800 for a pretty basic service.

Do you guys have any recommendations of great and affordable shops in the Seattle area?

Thanks in advance!

That's absurd. I paid just over $400 for the same service at my dealership. You'll get new spark plugs at 55k since you have the 3.2l (I did not; 75k service). But still, new plugs and labor shouldn't even put you close to $800.

Good luck with your search for an indy shop. I'm sure you'll have success.

If you want to go with these dealers, just purchase AudiCare Select Plan 3 for the 55K and 65K service. It costs about $800 and covers both service intervals.

Thanks for the reply! Do you know if I can just do the oil change at the dealer, and change the plugs at an indy?

Check the maintenance section of your User Manual - you will need to perform everything that is written down there, and keep proof of work performed (service records, receipts, etc.). Audi does allow performing maintenance at third-party shops, but to keep the warranty you will have to prove that all work has been performed which would've been performed by Audi dealership.

Hi welcome to the forum. I've been an Audi owner for quite a number of years and do a lot of my own work on my Audi, but if I don't do it myself the only other place I trust implicitly is IPM Auto in Redmond (425) 883-6311. Give Erik a call, he's an Audi owner himself and has all the specific VAG diag tools. I actually was in there earlier and gave him your details: 2012 3.2 Q5 55K service. His estimate everything (labor and parts) was $600 and I know he doesn't skip corners and does everything and beyond to make sure you get what you need addressed...plus he doesn't 'make up work' for non-existent issues.

Just an FYI, but the book rate for sparkplugs on the 2012 Q5 3.2 is 2 hours + cost of parts.

Hey, thanks for the info! I will be definitely looking at IPM Auto when the time comes.

55K service OEM parts cost about $250.
That's oil, oil filter, cabin filter, engine air filter, spark plugs.

Thus labor at an indy shop for $100 - 150 is reasonable, $550 for labor at dealers is, well, a rip off!

I do my own work so zero labor cost and I get a great discount on parts which costs me about $175.

Maybe he is including a brake fluid change also. Some more labor there. Due every 2 years if schedule is followed.
