Default Carista app is now available for iOS, too :)

Just wanted to let you guys know that we've just released our app for the iPhone officially on the Apple App Store. Check it out using the links in my signature!

In order to use it with an iPhone, iPad or iPod, you need a WiFi ELM327 device, such as the ones here: Hardware | Carista OBD2 - Vehicle Diagnostics and Customization

Sample configurable settings for a 2013 Audi Q5: Customizations | Carista OBD2 - Vehicle Diagnostics and Customization
(yours may vary based on year/model/market/options)

I just ordered a WiFi ELM327 device and I'll test the iOS app out next week.

After looking through the sample features available, I didn't see two features I really would love to see added. I hope they're available in the near future:
- Needle slide across gauges upon ignition.
- Video in Motion

BTW, Thanks for bringing it to iOS as well.

Cool

The gauge needle sweep is coming up (it's already available for the A4 B8, we just need to configure it for the Q5 as well).

Video in motion: I can't say yet. This one is more involved both from a technical point of view and from a legal one.

I have been testing the various beta versions on iOS and they have worked great for my Audi Q5 2010.

Highly recommended for anyone considering this app.

I don't want you to misunderstand me, but

Sample WiFi ELM327 devices for use with iOS:

Sorry but the links for shopping on Amazon this is not real ELM327, these are cheap Chinese versions, not ELM327
Only chip ELM327 chip costs $ 21

Ah, yes, that's definitely true. Unfortunately, that's what's available on the market. I have not yet found a single Bluetooth or WiFi device that uses an authentic ELM327 chip (i.e. from the creators of ELM327). If you know of any, please let us know. OBDLink devices come close, but they are not ELM327 anyway (they use their own STNxxxx chips) and they emulate ELM327 v1.3, which is not enough for Carista - we need v1.4 or newer. We've talked to OBDLink and they say they have no plans to upgrade.

So I guess I should say "ELM327-compatible devices" instead of "ELM327 devices". But you get the idea.
