Looks to me that it was a demonstrator at the first dealer. Strange that it got to a chevy used car lot.

is it possible to take it to an audi dealer to get it inspected prior to purchase, and even see if they would CPO it for a fee?

Dennis-
Has auto mobile titling changed?
Normally, I thought the car belongs to the maker (not the dealer) and dealer demos are on a "program" with the maker, so there is no title issued until the first retail purchaser. If a title was issued to the dealer for a "demo", then it would be resold as a used car--not a new one--when the next retail purchaser came long. No?

The Audi dealer near me said they would not CPO it.

Looks like the dealer is playing games with the price of the car also. It went back up to 52k.

Redd,

I am really not sure, but service loaners at the dealers in NYS have standard plates. I assume you cannot register the vehicle unless it is titled.

Last I knew if a vehicle was used as a demo by the dealer it was titled by the dealer and when sold is sold as a used vehicle with a nice discount. Warranty miles start from 0 so you could have some of the miles used by the time you buy it, the "year" part of the warranty is the iffy part depending on the dealer.

At least that is the way it has worked here in Oklahoma for as long as I can remember.
