Default Just want to share my suspension install

Bilstein B8 sport & H&R -3 spring.

I almost gave up on this and wanted to go PSS10 setup as another board member has it install it. As a PSS10 Fan, I thought twice and decide not to dump another $2000 into it and can not confirm that the spring rate is correct. Even though I now I can get custom spring rate for it.

As it was being installed. I was in Paris and saw many euro SQ5 roaming there. and euro ride height was perfect for what I wanted. I did not want another slam vehicle, as I have 2 on-hand.

My tuned sent me the pic of it install. It was prefect 30-1/2" around all corners.

How it rides. To start off OEM 21" wheel and suspension was never a comfort ride. It was always rough. Now, I would not state it is any more comfort. but it is a smoother ride. The spring and shock combo really work great together. Has it eliminate body roll "No", there still some, bit more than 50% of it is gone.. I am debating do I want swaybar now.

It is only a 50 mile review. I have more to test and have a 600mile road trip next week.

Value. my 2cent. the complete kit it was est $1000.00 compare to KW HAS $750.00est. I think this is the winner, unless you are looking for the ultimate height control. But on the other hand I am a firm believer that any spring kit will not work will on OEM struts. Over time OEM strut will not last long with any spring kit. Again my 2 cent.

How do you know that the struts have the proper damping for the springs?

let me rephrase that. I have seen my share of blown OEM strut with lower springs. in my days.
The main reason for the strut is really not performance, but rather it has a shorter travel distant, than OEM or Bilstein B6 struts.

It looks fantastic.

Please keep up posted on how you like this setup. I created another thread about the harshness of the SQ5 w/ 21" wheels. If there was a solution that lowered the vehicle and improved the ride - I would be sold.

Pass the most important test. My wife.. LOL

She did notices it was lowered. But she did not complain about the ride.

But she did comment on ride. "WOW. so much smoother than before. The damper soak up the road better than OEM strut"

I guess that is a 2 thumbs up.

Trust me. in the early 90's my wife , (then as friends) has her JDM Integra type-R all mod up already, and autocross it... she know her stuff

So in general, I can not BS my way about my car mod. she knows it all to well.. LOL

Do you notice any difference in road noise?

there is road noise that is more pronounced. But on the other hand , it could be the tyres. I have 9500 mile on the p-zero.
