If someone needs new adapter cable to connect an Apple device with Lightning port (iPhoneŽ -5th gen, iPodŽ touch - 5th gen, iPodŽ nano- 7th gen, iPadŽ - 4th gen )

This was reported back in Dec. Apparently there are two Lightning/AMI cables, 4F0051510AC and 4F0051510AD. The AC is for audio only and the AD will also pass video from a Lightning connector device. Unfortunately, although they could be ordered, they were backordered for the U.S. at that time. Has anyone in the U.S. actually received one yet?

I ordered one from eBay from a dealer in Vegas. Got it within the week!

Nothing on eBay right now. A couple of sellers listing it on the internet but no one actually has it in stock apparently. Are you sure it's the Lightning/AMI cable 4F0051510AD? Which dealer?

From what I can decipher from this page and plugging in the AC and AD part numbers:
- 4F0051510AC is for MMI 2G or 3G with AMI
- 4F0051510AD is for MMI 3G+

Went ahead and pre-ordered one from AudiUSAParts.
Even though I'm not crazy about the enormous connector it's better than a cigarette light adapter

Has anyone used an Audi USB adaptor with their USB Lightning cable? Does that work?

That won't work with an Apple iDevice. The USB-AMI cable is for FAT32 formatted devices, i.e. thumb drives and hard drives. While waiting for the Lightning/AMI cable, you can use a 30-pin AMI cable with an Apple Lightning to 30-pin adapter. It will work fine with audio and MMI control but no video.
