Default new/wheels/sunshade

Hello All.. New Q5 owner. First Audi for me. It is an 2009. Located in Western KY. Vehicle is well out of warranty.

Couple questions, I am going from the factory 19s to the factory 20s. How do I tell the computer system this or adjust for this? Do I need to buy a programmer or just check and see what the dealership would cost. (probably more than me buying my own programmer)

Anybody have an issue where the sunshade will not close automatically or retract fully? Mine retracts to the back but stop about 6 or 8 inches from opening full. Then if you one touch push the button to close it, it will close all the way and then open back up.

Thanks for any and all help.

So long as the overall circumference of the 20" wheels and tires is close to your 19" you just install, balance and drive away. No coding is necessary. If the circumference differences are far off, the speedometer and odometer will be inaccurate. Also, be sure offset and brake/fender clearance is adequate.

I was afraid it won't be close enough, so wondered if there was a way to adjust the computer for the new wheels. Guess since you could get them with factory 20x8.5's, I could look at what tire came on that and it would be fine.. maybe

When Audi offers more than one wheel size on a model, the tire profile measurement changes so that the overall circumference is the same on both sizes. Bigger wheel uses a lower profile tire, smaller wheel uses a higher profile tire. Again, you must match tires to larger wheels to maintain the same circumference as the smaller wheels.

TireRack has an online calculator you can use for +1 and +2 sizing.
