Hello,
I have a 2010 Q5 Premium with the standard halogen lights. I want to replace the bulbs with Höen Xenonmatch. I tried to remove the headlight assembly by removing the 3 torx screws, it moved, but I could not get it out. Looks like the whole front end would have to be removed to get it through. Is there an easier way that is not that obvious?

Thanks for your reply Justforfun. I checked out the link. But this fellow did not install bulbs in the head lights, only in the fog lites. I did that as well and it was pretty easy. My problem is getting the main headlight assembly out, that I have not been able to do yet.

You might contact where you bought the lights, sometimes they have installation instructions.

I'm pretty sure the headlamp assembly slides out completely. You may be missing a bolt.

After removing the 1 screw and 2 bolts, the assembly moves freely about 3 inches forward. But it cannot slide out through the front. The hole is too small. The top part hits the projection from the fender so the assembly cannot go up.

I got some help from a specialist. So in fact, the assembly does not need to come out completely. There is enough room once the 3 screws are removed to slide the assembly out 3 inches in order to open the 2 small trap doors and remove/replace the bulbs. They just snap in place. The passenger side is more work since the air filter assembly has to be removed.
