Default Re-train trip computer?

Hi All, 'range' indicator on my 2011 P+ used to be extremely accurate. However, one day I reset both trip computers in the MMI setup screen. Since then, it's been hilariously inaccurate. It's to the point where I'll drive for 50 Km and is value won't change at all.

Any thoughts on how to re-train this computer? It's been 10,000 Km since I reset it.

Thanks,

Brian

Brian, welcome aboard.

You can do some limited "training" with the VCDS tool in terms of correcting the fuel consumption values. Is this what you're after?

Basically, when I fill the tank it claims I have a range of 790 Km. However, if I drive 100 Km, it'll still often day '790 Km remaining'.

I've seen the "distance to empty" value climb after filling the car. I suppose it might do that for a day if I'm doing local driving. I tend to top off the tank and suspect that makes it worse.

That calculation is built into Audi's algorithm. I can't imagine there's any way to change it.

You can add some overall accuracy to the system by fine-tuning the fuel consumption with VCDS.

Sorry for the basic question, but...
What's VCDS?

VCDS is the Ross-Tech Vag-Com cable and software that connects to your OBDII port under the dash and allows for fault tscans, modifications and more. There are a gazillion threads on this. So a search.

Does the distance to empty ever change? Try rebooting the MMI. Press menu+center control selector+top righ function button.
