Good thread, thanks for the info. I didn't realize the reveal was scheduled for next week.
Interested to see the new Q5, SQ5....and hopefully, eventually, the RSQ5.

Air suspension available ?
Here is more...

While Audi will offer most variants as four-wheel drive, it will be the first model to adopt a front-wheel-drive layout because of its close relation to the new A4.
The new A4’s suspension setup – a five-link system at both the front and rear – will be used on the Q5, but will also be offered with self-levelling air suspension.

So any thoughts on that new headlight technology? Do other vehicles have it? It seems like it would be a huge distraction, both to the driver and to the oncoming vehicles, to keep having the brightness of lights changed around all incoming vehicles/obstacles.

Air suspension sounds good. I test drove the new 2017 allroad which has adaptive suspension standard. It was a nice ride. Air ride is even better, right?

The matrix beam technology has been around in Europe for a few years on the high end models and is trickling down the lineup now. Outdated US DOT headlight regulations dating back to the Nixon administration prevent anything beyond automatic high beams, so I doubt the matrix feature will make it to US-bound Q5s. There are a bunch of videos out there of the technology in action, and it isn't nearly as distracting as the preview video makes it seem.
