Perhaps Audi will offer an "overseas delivery program", allowing US buyers to buy their Q5 "overseas" in Mexico, drive it 2000km, and then bring it home as a used car, at a lower tariff level as well?
(VBG)
Wait, no, that would require clever marketing. And might be a NAFTA issue?

Indeed it does. But I'm Canadian. Cops in Mexico are very corrupt, and there's a lot of drug trafficking there. As long as you stick to tourist areas, you are generally pretty safe. Just facts.

SPIED On The STREET! This Is The All-New Audi Q5 As NAKED As It Gets! - AutoSpies Auto News
Can't say I'm thrilled about the chrome pin-striping... hope that's a disguise tactic.
My wife is pushing me to get a Q7 over a SQ5 -- for family reasons.

I agree - I hope the chrom pin-striping and the plastic wheel wells are not in the final (I like paint to the edge). I like the rest of it though. My wife too, really likes the Q7. I want an SQ5 as I can't afford an SQ7, which is what I'd rather have. I've heard that the SQ5 will likely be available at launch (I asked a PR person who said "you will be pleasantly surprised").
I hope the new Q5 will have DAP. I deal with traffic issues all the time here in western Washington and it would be great to use this feature.
If the current Q5 didn't have outdated tech, I'd bite now as the SQ5 is so fun to drive.

I have test driven the new Q7 and loved it. It frankly had plenty of power. They've been out for six months now, so by the time the new Q5's launch, there will be CPO Q7s and 2017 clearances to make room for the 2018s... I hope Either way, could shave some savings buying a slightly used one.
You can configure the SQ7 on audi.co.uk already, and it comes well equipped for the base price of only £70,460. Hard to speculate the price here... but a V8 diesel would be super welcome here.

Q7/SQ7 is the same story as Q5/SQ5 - you think the former is good enough only until you drive the latter in the pair
Honestly I'm totally OK with current looks, what I want is more tech inside (oh and USB ports - c'mon, it's year 2016 for God's sake!).

Hilarious, I just said basically the same thing in another thread(about the SQ7). Fairly difficult to justify $100k on a car when you have things like family, and retirement to worry about. $70k is already bad enough for an SQ5 (Canada prices).

FYI price of the basic model SQ7 4.0 TDI quattro € 89,900.00, with additional equipment price is approx € 122,000 = $ 135,000
This is price without
-Audi exclusive € 12,300EUR,
-Bang & Olufsen Advanced Sound € 6,150
-Ceramic brakes € 8,500
and .........................
The final price could be over € 160,000 = $ 177,000
