FYI, I have a claim in, and Audi service made sure it was all approved, and no check after 6.5 weeks. I really don't have time to chase them around; I'll let you know whether or not a fire them and get a refund. ;}

It'll be interesting to see what they try to sell me when my wife's new A6 comes in..
Tire, Rim & Chip insurance? Nonsense - the purpose of insurance is a catastrophe - not a $75 repair.
I agree with you, 'Ski. I just bought a 2015 Q5 2.0T and the dealer offered the extended powertrain warranty, (7yrs/70k miles $2,620), dent/ding coverage (5yrs $595), tire/wheel coverage (5yrs $1,199), Simoniz Glass Coat. The SUV I traded-in had the same 235x18x60 tires as the Q5 2.0T, and I got 70k miles on those tires -- and that included lots of off road driving, potholes on I-91, clipping curbs, etc., and the tires didn't fail and the rims never bent. For paint chips, there's the Dr. Colorchip kit. I'll be telling the dealer "thanks but no thanks" for these coverages. However, I think I will get the pre-paid service plan (Audi Care ?)

It's easy to get swept up in the excitement of picking up the new car and wanting to protect the new baby. The dealers know this too. Big time.

I wouldn't do it again. First, my dealer failed to remit the premium to the insurer, resulting in a net 10 week reimbursement delay. Second, the reimbursement formula sorted out to $299 for a $400 tire, a loss I paid up-front, and I'll have to front the cash always with that insurer. Third, I found the same coverage via my insurer for $300 less and zero-hassle claims process and better reimbursement. Finally, and this is the icing on the cake for me, I'll run 18" wheels for the winter, so, what's that risk of bending a 20 on a pothole again? Oh yeah, that's covered by my collision policy anyway, so, $500 loss per event ex this dedicated insurance, and the insurer won't really say what I'd get paid if I destory a stock 20" wheel up front. 👿 Shame on me. I passed the risk management finals once.... Lesson learned. Audi Care is a good deal; GF just purchased I on a new Q5.

Absolutely. Funny they just don't think so much about who else close to that duped customer might buy an Audi next. They sent me a free cargo net though to make nice; a $24 value! If I did business that way I'd be unemployable.
