my wife got a small chip on one of her wheels, surely from some sort of flying debris during the winter.

as you can see, it has the s-line package (black parts) and thus, has the "titanium" wheels.

i looked in the forums and found two possible paint codes, with most of the evidence pointing toward L8AU since my wheels are pretty much matte. the other code was LY7P and is apparently not matte? i am curious if the touch up paint from Audi for either color actually dries matte or not. if the codes are meant for regular multi stage paint, the matte part would be in the clear, so, that's quite confusing to me to say one touch up color is more matte than the other.

at the same time i emailed Audi customer care and they said they would get back to me in a day or two. then i got a follow up response a couple days later saying they were still looking into it. THEN, i got a message on my phone from a dealer in PA saying that audi asked them to call with the paint code and he gave me the paint code for my vehicle paint (daytona gray pearl).

so i emailed customer care back and they responded that it should be "8V8"...which doesn't even make sense. and also, that the paint is available from an authorized aluminum repair facility.

does anyone have any insight on this?
