Can't believe this has changed for the 2015 Q5. Bad info.
Where on the link does it show the 4year trial? Thanks

Look under Prestige model standard features. Prestige comes with Navigation Plus / Audi Connect standard.

Thanks..that may be the problem PP only shows 90 days..but still odd I can't add it after the fact..I suspect the reason why is that my original account was for a car that didn't have trafffic ability..nowt that I am back to that account SXM doesn't see it as an option..

Ah, didn't know the A3/S3 still uses SiriusXM. Thought the 4G system all used the same services, but I guess I was wrong.

When you bought your car, Audi should have created a brand new SiriusXM account for you with the two trial subscriptions. What happened to that account? You should have either closed your old account or merged it with the new account. Your traffic subscription might be hanging out there under the new account Audi created.

Audi | SiriusXM Auto Dealer Resource Center

Says that SOME cars will get the trial. Perhaps only those built on a Tuesday afternoon in months ending in "R" ?

There's also a contact number just for user problems, account mergers, etc. there.

The 2016 Q5 media guide says that the US cars have "SiriusXM® Traffic w/4-year subscription" (included in the tech package)

That is 90 days for SiriusXM radio.

Did you get the window sticker with the delivery of your Q5? Please look at the options. If you have navigation, you should have 4 years of traffic from SiriusXM.

I just downloaded the 2015 Q5 pdf brochure and copied the following. It shows the Sirius traffic info still has a 4 year subscription available with navigation package. Since it's still advertised, I should think Audi has to honor it.

Since MY2013, the 4 year free traffic subscription was always for Audis equipped with 3G MMI Navigation Plus. If you have Nav Plus with Audi Connect, the offer should still be in force. Apparently some of the A3/S3 with the new MMI 4G may have Inrix instead of Sirius traffic but that wouldn't affect a Q5.

If the OP has Nav Plus, he should try calling AOA and Sirius again and ask to have it escalated to someone who knows what they are talking about. Shouldn't have to be this difficult.

Default Resolved..I think

So I called XMS again today and fortunately got a CSR who didn't mind digging into the issue.

AoA told me that my subscription was only for 90 days. I looked at the footnote in the Audi USA site for the 2015 Q5 TDI Prem Plus..

For the PP:

SiriusXM® Satellite Radio with 90-day trial subscription
No mention of the XM Traffic in the specs but in the footnote:

"SiriusXM Satellite Radio and SiriusXM Traffic sold separately or as a package after trial period." The trial period is 90 days….so I think AoA was correct.

For the Prestige the XMS covers:

SiriusXM® Satellite Radio with 90-day trial subscription 5
SiriusXM® Traffic with four-year subscription 5

So I think Prestige you get 4 years and PP 90 days of traffic.

The CSR finally got it to reactivate, however now I have to pay ~$4/month..no big deal

Just glad it is resolved..These types of 'services' (think cable TV Sat TV are a genuine PITA to deal with!)
